A classic combination of two British brands, Overfinch & Holland Holland.
Released on the 23rd of September 2009 at the Holland & Holland Shooting Ground in north London. This edition created one of the most spectacular & luxurious Range Rovers ever made.

Claimed by Holland and Holland to be a “Quintessentially English take on motoring luxury”.
A relationship started with Land Rover and Holland & Holland for the P38 model in 1999, this time round the collaboration was between Overfinch and Holland & Holland. The retail price was £143,950 for the Petrol and £139,650 for the diesel before options.
This edition was limited to just 100 cars worldwide so it had the rarity factor, but here’s the twist… this was launched whilst the UK and most of the world were heading into recession and Overfinch as a company was heading towards administration so the eventual number made is much lower.
Overfinch, formally called Schuler was known as a respected engine tuner for Range Rover from the mid-70s into the late 90s but then became more design-led with only cosmetic upgrades in the later 2000s due to the fact Land Rover themselves began to do what Overfinch had been doing for years, increasing engine power and creating exclusive cars with the Autobiography and Special Vehicles divisions. Overfinch had to keep pushing the exclusive, luxury envelope to extend the gap from Land Rover SV. Although, Land Rover and Special Vehicles did respond to this Holland & Holland edition with their take in the form of the Range Rover Ultimate Edition in 2012.
When you came to order your new Overfinch Holland & Holland car, a Range Rover donor vehicle would have to be supplied in Santorini black with black carpets. The engine was either the 3.6 turbo diesel or 5.0 Supercharged, but it had to be in Autobiography trim and from the current 2010 models. The Autobiography trim was required so it had more of the original Land Rover fitments such as adaptive cruise control, 4 zone climate, rear seat screens, dual view touch screen, vision assist and logic 7 surround sound. All of which adds to the luxury finish of the car.
If you were to order an LHD model the same rules applied regarding the model and year, and once the vehicle arrived, the cost was £57,995 excluding shipping and taxes.
The exterior had the current Overfinch Aero III styling package with the latest front and rear bumpers, side sills, rear wind spoiler, and a special cast exhaust system by Janspeed.

There were Seven choices of Interior colours. All finished in Nappa Leather

European Walnut
Piano Black
Olive Ash Burr
These were finished with either a diamond pattern Inlay or a Silver inlay. And again, you could order whatever you wanted.

Before the first No1 car of the official limited edition run of “100 Cars”, a prototype car was made in 2009. An excellent condition 2006 registered car was found to convert, this meant some of the later design details changed for the full production run. It was a high-specification Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 Supercharged which was purchased by Overfinch and commissioned as a bespoke ‘Holland and Holland Range Rover by Overfinch at the request of their chairman Bob Dover, the former Chairman and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover as it was his intention to use the vehicle to represent the company.
This Overfinch authenticated conversion included a completely bespoke ‘Holland and Holland’ wood interior with a rear console including a fridge and bespoke Overfinch Holland and Holland crystal tumblers. The eventual rear centre console was different to this one.
This prototype had unique oval Holland & Holland badges made for it, different to the ones used on the official run of cars.
The interior was also subject to a full Bridge of Weir leather re-trim in Navy and Parchment. The vehicle also features 2009/10 ‘ Holland and Holland by Overfinch model colour-coded 20″ Overfinch Tiger alloys and the full Aero II body kit.
What makes this vehicle completely unique, other than it was their own chairman’s car, is that being a commissioned 2006 model rather than the 2009/10 model offered for sale at the time it is a one-off bespoke pre-face lift L322 model.

The previous owner of the car recommissioned the car to a near mint condition and did all the research including getting in touch with Bob Dover himself and getting the correct history of the car.

So back to the H&H production run, the gun box cabinet was a standard fit with all the cars. This compromised the space in the boot and was a crazy luxury for carrying a couple of guns, a few bottles of spirits, and a few extra drinks glasses. It was removable but came fixed to the floor for safety. If you ordered the car without the boot box then a delete cost option meant a deduction of £2900 was given.

The bespoke hand-veneered gun/picnic cabinet, as it was sometimes marketed had one lockable box for two guns and a collection of 8 champagne flutes and 10 tumblers all with the H&H branding.
You could order the car without the rear seat console as it did take away a seat and made it a pure four-seater. One of the UK cars did do this and has the 5-seat option.

The rear seat box section, with the drinks cabinet and glasses from this limited edition, could be ordered as an Overfinch feature to any car that was being given the ‘Overfinch’ treatment. A few cars had this. These cars weren’t one of the limited edition Holland & Hollands, as you’ll find no H&H branding on those cars. Here’s a link https://www.bramley.com/stock/2009-land-rover-range-rover-5.0-supercharged-autobiography-overfinch-upgrades/2059 that Bramley sold with the H&H console in the back a few years back.

If it doesn’t have the “Holland & Holland” branding on the seat facing, wooden waist rails, the tread entry sill plates or have the H&H gun finish emblem on the four sections of the steering wheel or on the top of the rear box then it won’t have the edition number plaque on the centre console and this means it is not a Holland & Holland edition.
Overfinch sold the rear seat box sections to recoup the vast engineering, designing, and production costs of their other Overfinch non-Holland & Holland Range Rovers. These cars were Overfinch with just an H&H rear console only.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

The full hand-veneered wood kit comprised 31 pieces of wood with the Holland & Holland inlays added across many sections with either the wording or the engraved diamond inserts from the H&H guns. I believe these were outsourced to Silvercrest Woodwork in Iver.

Other features that came with this edition were a Holland & Holland picnic rug, luxury carpet over-mats with leather binding to match the seats (lambswool ones were an option) and a unique Nubuck leather-lined Holland & Holland Owner Handbook Wallet which was the same sizing as the usual L322 model.

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
The VIN numbers were just from the usual Land Rover numbers so nothing made these cars stand out that you could identify them.
All the cars started out as Santorini Black so the inside of the engine bay was a standard, non-metallic colour. So a genuine car will be black under the hood.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
As usual, I have tracked down old adverts for the cars that I would have saved in the day… here are a few of them, I do have a couple more but can’t find them yet…

Here are the press packs and UK brochures released for this edition.

A few separate sources state that just 9 cars were made and sold worldwide. Where all the LHD cars went in the world is unclear. I found one in Dubai. But the eventual number sold in the UK was 5 cars, plus the prototype.
Cars that I’ve researched and found since their release…
- No000 Santorini Black / Cream + Black leather – Original Prototype car for the MD. This is a 4.2 Supercharger 2006 car.
- No.001 Holland & Holland Green / Champagne full leather. The original Launch car. ex Top Gear. This first came up for sale in July 2009 with 8000 miles on it and again in April 2013 with 34,000 miles at Westover Group, Christchurch. This is a 5.0 car.
- No.007 Balloon Pearl White / Chocolate Brown full leather. This came up for sale with Clive Sutton in 2014 with 8000 miles. And then again at H&H auctions in April 2023. This is a Turbo Diesel. It is possible this car started life as Berberis and was later painted Pearl White… although that needs confirming, as it was sold in April 2023, stating “original colour from first reg”
- No.009 Santorini Black / Swiss Chocolate Brown full leather with cream piped seats. Quilted headlining in cream. Gunstock grain wood. Offered for sale as a new car in November 2010 and then used in July 2015. This is a 5.0 Petrol
- No??? Pearl Brown / Brown/Black full leather. Turbo Diesel car. ex Clive Sutton.
- No??? Berberis Aubergine / Champagne full leather. ex show car. This is a 5.0 Petrol. I’ve only seen this come for sale once, with 23k in February 2010.
- No. Berberis Aubergine / Champagne. I found the first LHD car in Dubai, which was for sale in 2018. Interesting, these weren’t numbered.

More will follow as I find more details out… Let me know if you own one or know of any. ex-Overfinch staff, get in touch. Any brochures, posters, or literature, please get in touch!
