BENTLEY ARNAGE ‘ FINAL SERIES ‘ 2009

To celebrate 10 years of the Arnage in 2009, Bentley Motors launched the Arnage Final Series at the 2008 Paris Motor Show in October, with deliveries starting in 2009.

This edition featured a unique specification based on the Arnage T model, with the same 500 bhp performance of the Arnage T and the refinement of the Arnage R, coupled with design elements from the Bentley Brooklands Coupe. This was to be the final hurrah for one of the best Bentleys that had been made. This 0-100mph in 12 seconds super-saloon was the ultimate expression of British luxury and effortless power in a four-door guise – this was the Grand Finale.

The additional features that were added to this edition were a lot of the popular options from the Arnage range, together with a few unique features. The Brooklands 20″ five-spoke, two-piece alloy wheels come as standard, unique Final Edition treadplates and wing badges. Special dark-tinted matrix grills for the front, together with painted headlamp bezels. Ceramic brakes were a cost option.

The interior is where the real treats are. Starting with a rear cocktail cabinet, picnic tables, a document folder behind the driver’s seat, a Final Series stainless steel flask with shot glasses, and a brace of Bentley umbrellas fitted in the boot. Quilted interiors and special headlining also add to the drama. The only real option was a NIAM sound system upgrade.  You could also go down the Mulliner route and specify it as you wish. One of the UK cars did just that. Finished in Burnt Oak Metallic with Burnt Oak leather. This is the only one of the cars in said spec; it even had its own VIN number and came with its own build book.

This Edition was Limited to 150 cars, although, like a lot of the Bentley editions, that was the maximum number. The actual number produced was just 96 cars. Only 27 RHD cars, 3 being export RHD cars, with only 24 being recorded as UK RHD cars. So a lot rarer than most people realise. Although one of the UK cars was issued with its own VIN number, which isn’t on the list of original VIN numbers, there may be 25 UK cars in total.

Now, the Arnage is rare in the UK if it’s registered in 2009 or 2010. About 25 were registered in 2009 of the Arnage T., with only 11 of any other format, R or RL.

The Burnt Oak car went for sale via Iconic Auctions in August 2025 with only 10,600 miles on it.

Interestingly, one of the launch colours of Black Velvet didn’t seem to sell in the UK. I adored this colour on its launch, it even made me actually follow the edition, but I’ve only found one of those as a UK car, and that is owned by Bentley themselves in their Heritage Collection https://www.bentleymedia.com/en/heritage-collection/2009-arnage-final-series But… I’m still missing a few cars and hope there are a few hiding in this colour.

Of the remaining UK cars, one is Burnt Oak. A unique (Mulliner) spec order, then the rest are mainly Black & Blue, and a couple of greys. Strangely, 42 colours were available to choose from, and only a few were chosen.

I’ve a lot of old adverts & photos to research, so I may find a few more. Most of the colours around the world are similar, with a few special order colours.

  1. My friend owns the car in Burnt Oak with chassis finishing CH00100. It has one former keeper and now covered 9000 miles. He purchased it in 2018 from Bentley Birmingham and rarely ever uses it and wants to sell it…..?! Are there any interested parties, he wants £100,000.
